This years Rodeo started off with a bang with great weather and great fishing. Capt Josh was able to put several fish on the overall board this first week that stuck the entire month. Everything was great till we were thrown a curved ball with a Hurricane aiming right for our area. We were blessed that the storm made a turn at the last minute and we escaped the strongest hurricane in the past century with very little damage in our area. We were able to get back to our normal daily life after a couple days. Our neighbors to the east weren't as fortunate and we continue to donate and pray for their recovery. As we got back to fishing after the storm we were thrown another curve ball with Red tide in our area. We were very fortunate that it was scattered and we were able to fish around it the rest of the month. At the end of the month we finished off with 67 daily winners and on the big leader board finished 1st and 2nd place in the Redfish division, 1st place Amberjack, and 1st place blacksnapper. Congrats again to all of our lucky anglers in this years rodeo and we look forward to doing it again next year.
The last award Destin Inshore Guides brought home was the Captain of the Year award for our division. For the second year in a row Capt Josh was awarded the Captain of the Year award. Receiving this award from the Destin Fishing Rodeo two years in a row means a lot to Capt Josh as he fished with a lot of old time captains in the rodeo that he looked up to growing up as a kid. We want to thank all our clients for choosing Destin Inshore Guides to take them fishing, none of this would be possible without y'all.
