Meet Your Captain
Captain Kyle, Destin Inshore Guides

Capt. Kyle lives, eats, and breathes Destin fishing. A Destin native who grew up with a rod in hand, he specializes in the inshore and bay fisheries the Emerald Coast is known for — redfish, speckled trout, flounder, and everything that swims the Choctawhatchee. After graduating high school he spent time away from the area for college and the work world, but it didn’t take long to realize fishing is what he wanted to do. He earned his captain’s license and has been guiding inshore bay charters ever since. Known for his patient approach and his ability to put beginners and kids on fish fast, Kyle runs trips that are as much about the experience as the catch.

Before you book

The questions we get asked most

Prices, licences, where we leave from and what is biting.

How much is a fishing charter in Destin?

Bay trips are $800 for four hours, $1,000 for five and $1,200 for six. Nearshore Gulf, shark and Captain's Choice trips are $900, $1,125 and $1,350. Kids trips are $400 for two hours and $600 for three. The 31 foot Cape Horn runs a full eight hour day at $1,800. Every rate is for the boat and covers up to four passengers, with each extra passenger $50.

Do we need a fishing licence?

No. Everyone aboard is covered by the boat's charter licence, and it is included in the price rather than added at the dock.

What is included in the trip?

Rods, reels and tackle, bait, ice, the licence for your whole group, and fish cleaning at the dock. You bring food, drink, sunscreen and a hat.

Where do the boats leave from?

Heron Harbor Marina, 314 Harbor Blvd, Destin, Florida 32541. Trips run seven days a week between 6am and 8pm.

What will we catch?

It depends on the month. Redfish and speckled trout in the bay all year, cobia along the beaches in spring, snapper and triggerfish on the reefs in summer, redfish schooling in autumn, sheepshead and grouper in winter.

How do I hold a date?

A $250 reservation fee books it, by Visa, MasterCard, Discover or cheque. The balance is paid to the captain on the day. Cancel 30 or more days out and the fee is refunded.
