Inshore Gulf Fishing

On inshore gulf guided fishing trips we venture into the Gulf of Mexico fishing near shore, generally within sight of land. These trips consist of two types of fishing, trolling and bottom fishing.
While trolling, either lures or live baits will be used with the targeted species being King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack, and Bonita. With those being the most common species of fish caught trolling in Destin we also catch other species while trolling that we call ""bonus fish"" because you just never know what you will catch. These ""bonus fish"" include Mahi Mahi, Cobias, Black Fin Tunas, and the occasional inshore trophy catch the ""Sailfish"".
When bottom fishing we fish a mixture of natural bottom reefs and man-made structures known as wrecks. We will be targeting a wide variety of fish including Red Snappers, Black Snappers, Vermillion Snappers ""Mingo Snappers"", Amberjack, Trigger Fish, and Groupers.
Sight fishing along the beautiful beach is also available during certain times of the year. Cobias migrate our beaches in the spring, Tarpon roam the beaches during the summer months, and during the fall and winter months Red Fish cruise the beaches in huge schools making them the perfect sight fishing target.

Inshore Bay Fishing

We journey through the calm waters of the Choctawhatchee Bay and inter-coastal waterway fishing over grass flats, oyster bars, around bridges, jetties, and docks in search of Redfish and Speckle Trout on light tackle spinning gear.
Other species to expect to catch depending on time of the year are Spanish Mackerel, Black Snapper, Sheepshead, Blue Fish, Lady Fish ""Skipjacks"", Jack Crevalle, and Black Drum.
We primarily use live bait fishing tactics but can accommodate artificial fishing upon request for more avid anglers.

Shark Fishing

There is a wide range variety of sharks we catch including Bull Sharks, Spinner Sharks, Mako Sharks, Black Tips, Dusky Sharks, Sandbar Sharks, Hammer Head Sharks, Nurse Sharks, and Tiger Sharks.
important A majority of these sharks are protected making these Destin trips mainly catch and release trophy excursions. However we are teamed up with Grays Taxidermy ""the world’s largest marine taxidermy company"" and offer replica mounts of your trophy catch if interested.

Kids Fishing Trips

Destin Inshore Guides is proud to offer specialized kids fishing trips. Kids fishing trips are designed to introduce children to saltwater fishing and boating.
Unlike most companies in Destin, Fl, Destin Inshore Guides gives you the ability to customize your trip from 2 or 3 hours to fit your needs depending on the ages of your young anglers instead of a minimum of 4 hour trips.
On kids fishing trips we venture into the calm waters of the Destin Harbor and Choctawhatchee Bay staying close by to maximize your fishing time. While on the boat, your captain will take his time to explain different types of fish and gear to the children.
On each trip there is also a possibility of seeing different types of sea life like dolphins and sea turtles. Our company's goal is to get the kids on any species of fish that will have the best possible action at the time of your fishing trip to keep them entertained.
Destin Inshore Guides' kids fishing trips are very customizable from taking the kids fishing to cruising around looking for dolphins. With the boat equipped with a small bathroom it makes it very family friendly for the kids.

The Boats
Reel Lucky
Destin Inshore Guides is proud to announce the arrival of the new Reel Lucky. The Reel Lucky is a 2018 Sea Hunt BX 25 BR. Being one of the largest bay boats in the Destin area provides lots of room for your group. Sea Hunt bay boats are well known for their Carolina flairs making them one of the softest and driest riding bay boat out there.
Reel Lucky 2
Reel Lucky 2 is a Sea Hunt bx 24 br bay boat. This boat is a fisherman’s dream setup. Sporting the carolina flair that Sea Hunt boats are known for and a sharp entry deadrise provides a nice comfortable and dry ride. And sporting a wide 8’6” beam she has lots of room and is very stable for choppier conditions in the bay.
31’ CAPE HORN
At Destin Offshore Guides we are running a 2004 Cape Horn 31t. Our Cape Horn is powered with a brand new pair of 2023 300hp Yamaha motors. The boat is outfitted with a Rhodan Trolling motor with gps spot lock and all top of the line electronics from Simrad to keep all our anglers on top of the fish. This boat is vary spacious measuring 31’8” and just over 9’ beam making it a fisherman’s dream with plenty of fishing space for up to 6 passengers with no worries. The boat has two livewells 60 gallons and 27 gallons to allow us to hold plenty of bait for even our all day charters. The boat is equipped with a large t-top to provide lots of shade on hot days and lots of seating all around the boat for accommodating groups up to 6 passengers comfortably.
Wasabi
WASABI is a 2015 Sea Hunt Gamefish 25 Offshore series boat. This boat is the perfect setup for fishing the Gulf of Mexico. It sports the carolina flair that Sea Hunt boats are known for providing a nice and comfortable ride. This boat is very spacious and stable with a 9' wide beam and measuring in at 25'6" long. Wasabi is powered by twin 150hp four stroke Yamaha outboard and is equipped with top of the line electronics by Garmin. The boat is equipped with a large t-top to provide lots of shade on hot days and lots of seating all around the boat for accommodating groups up to 6 passengers comfortably.
